Reviews
1. What kind of finish do you get?
Dalsberg produces a natural wood finish — not a plastic coating, for your outdoor wood.
You get a deep, matte exterior wood paint, mineral finish designed to live with the wood, not freeze it in place.
The surface is not standardized like an industrial RAL color.
It reacts to light, seasons, and the wood itself — aging naturally without cracking or peeling.
This is a living finish, not a factory coating.
A paint that lets wood breathe.
2. Where it works best
Cabins & chalets
Barns & sheds
Fences & outbuildings
Shutters, doors, and wood features
Best results on:
Rough wood (++++)
Planed wood (+++)
Pressure-treated wood (+++)
3. Application (simple, honest)
Apply with a wide brush (whitewash / masonry style)
One generous coat is usually enough
No primer required
Roller not recommended
Sprayer possible (light dilution)
4. Surface prep
Light brushing or dust removal.
On previously painted wood, remove synthetic or film-forming coatings.
5. A paint that does not peel.
Because non-film forming paint doesn’t form a plastic film.
A very light, progressive surface chalking can appear over time — this is normal for breathable paints.
On raw wood, adding boiled linseed oil eliminates it and improves durability.
6. Wood grain & texture
Yes — the wood stays visible.
Grain, knots, and texture remain readable.
No plastic look. No glossy shell.
7. About linseed oil (optional)
Linseed oil is optional but recommended for exposed exterior wood.
Improves moisture resistance
Reduces surface chalking
Extends service life
Any boiled linseed oil from Home Depot or Lowe’s works perfectly.
This reinforces the paint, especially for winter or harsh conditions.
8. Interior use?
Possible for decorative wood or trim.
But this paint is designed for exterior wood first
9. Why Dalsberg?
Not all “natural paints” behave the same.
Only carefully selected mineral pigments and compatible natural binders ensure:
proper adhesion
long-term outdoor performance
This formulation is inspired by traditional barn paint.
reworked for modern exterior wood projects.
